Friday morning I painted at Fort Myers Beach with the Lee Plein Air group. Pauline, Brian, Barbara, Dennis, Velda, & I tried to keep cool as we sketched and painted scenes around the Times Square patio near the Pier. Brian was the lucky one with a great sale of one of his previous paintings. I was a lucky one, because I had a great time with nearby artists who were crafting crosses and roses of cabbage palm fronds and twisting copper wire into trees and other artsy objects. We all reminisced about military service and the places we had been. Using my terry cloth towel on my heat drenched face almost more than my brush on the canvas, I created a happy little scene in oil in front of Pete's Time Out Bistro...where our group stopped for lunch at noon. Brian & I stayed until 2:45pm and kept painting. I am a slow painter when I am conversing with others and I was also in the bright sun that entire session. So I spent an hour Saturday night at home to complete the painting. I was glad we painted there this week because that is where our FMBAA group will do "PAINT THE BEACH" in November during the "Quick Draw" event. I am signed up for that.
This is titled "TIME OUT" I do not know how to get The Morning Window Ledge off. I am still learning to blog. This appears to be google + and not blogger. I do not know what I am doing...I guess!?!?!?!
ReplyDeletehahaha.. as if the rest of us do (know what we are doing). In any case, I like the painting.
